How to put on stockings

The main thing is to avoid snagging or tearing the stockings as you put them on.

  • Make sure the skin on your hands, feet and legs is smooth - moisturised and preferably free of hair
  • Take off any rings you are wearing
  • Be careful that nails don't catch - they need to be filed smooth

Sit down on a steady surface - or you're likely to fall down 

Roll down the entire length of the stocking to the toe, gathering it in your two hands to make a shallow opening that puts your toes in contact with the toe of the stocking.

With your thumbs on the inside and your fingers on the outside of the stocking, slowly and carefully inch it over your foot and up your leg, keeping it stretched so that you don't have to pull it up once it is on your leg.  If you have a seam then it's easier to keep your fingers over the seam as you pull up the stocking to ensure that it is straight - check in the mirror or get a partner to check.

A word about suspenders

Attach the suspenders from your suspender belt to the welt of the stocking - preferebly at least 6 straps for a comfortable hold.  If your partner is still there, then get them to fasten the back ones - but you can easily do this for yourself if you are sitting down.  You might need to adjust the length of the suspender after fastening - they need to be longer at the back, shorter at the front.

If you're wearing nylons that are fully fashioned then please be careful that you don't fasten the suspender over the keyhole in the welt - this is the most delicate area of the stocking and you will rip it.  Ripping your brand new nylons will make you cry.

Repeat on the other leg.

Stand up and check out your sexy legs!

One final tip - wear your underwear over rather than under your suspender belt.  Makes life a lot easier!

Putting on Tights

The principles for putting on tights are the same.

Tights are often easier because they are made of lycra blends and so will stretch more easily than a nylon stocking.

Make the same preparations in terms of avoiding snags, and sitting comfortably on a stable surface.

Roll down each leg of the tights in turn and fit over the toes of each foot.

Gently draw each leg upward, alternate in equal lengths until the tights are fully stretched up to the waist.

Major point here is to ensure that the gusset of the tights fits comfortably.

Remember - the more sheer the lycra blend, the more careful you need to be to avoid snags and tears.
